Garth Brooks’ 2018 Ballad Left Trisha Yearwood Speechless — Fans Are Still Feeling the Impact.LC

Garth Brooks has recorded his fair share of heartbreaking country songs, but a 2018 tearjerker tune dedicated to his wife, Trisha Yearwood, caught her completely by surprise.

The song “Stronger Than Me,” written by Matt Rossi and Bobby Terry, was kept a secret from everyone except those involved in the recording. Brooks debuted the tune live during the 2018 CMA Awards.
“Nobody heard it. Just the five guys, the engineer, and myself,” Brooks told Billboard in a video clip.
He added, “When I heard it for the first time, I said, ‘Gosh, this is what I would say to Trisha if I was talented enough to write the song.’ I was really happy that we got to pick this moment for her to hear it, and hopefully, I get to talk to her and see what she thinks.”

Brooks then shared a statement about his enduring love for Yearwood after 20 years. “When you look at that woman, your breath kinda leaves you. It doesn’t matter how she’s dressed or what time of day. But to actually sing a song and look at her, that was a little more than I can do.”

Trisha Yearwood says Garth Brooks marriage is the ‘best thing’

“Because I thought I was happy before,” she admitted. “But I think I settled a lot in my life.”
Yearwood continued, “I didn’t know this existed. It’s wonderful to be with somebody that you have a great friendship with, who really is your friend and will tell you, as your friend, ‘this is what I think.'”
“We’re crazy about each other,” she concluded. “We enjoy each other’s company so it’s truly elevated everything in my life to a better place.”

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood married on December 10, 2005. He proposed in front of 7,000 fans, during a show in Bakersfield, California, at the Crystal Palace, according to The Bakersfield Californian.
