Saquon Barkley ignites the Eagles’ ground attack as they steamroll the Giants in a Week 8 thriller.QQ

Saquon Barkley looked like the star rusher we know and love in Week 8’s win over the New York Giants.

Star running back Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles finally flashed the ground game that got them to the Super Bowl last year during their Week 8 win over the New York Giants on Sunday.
Barkley finished the win rushing 14 times for 150 yards and one score. His longest run was a 65-yard rush for a touchdown to give the Birds a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

Barkley also had four catches for 24 yards and a score amid top wide receiver A.J. Brown’s abscense.
There were high expectations for Barkley entering the 2025 NFL season after he rushed for over 2,000 yards in 2024. However, he failed to live up to them through the first seven games of the season, rushing for under 400 yards, which he took full blame for heading into this week’s matchup.
“We’re just not getting the job done,” Barkley said earlier in the week. “I’m not getting the job done. I own the running game. That’s my responsibility. I was brought here to make plays in the run game and I’m not making plays in the run game. I’m taking too many negative runs and I own that.
“It’s not because I rushed for 2,000 yards last year. I hate that narrative. I rushed for 2,000 yards last year, but no one wanted me to rush for 2,000 yards. It wasn’t like they just handed us 2,000 yards rushing. We just had a different mindset and a different attitude, and that starts with me.”
The Eagles will now enter their Bye week 6-2 before returning to face the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football.

Barkley did exit the game early with a groin injury and did not return.
When asked after the game how he was feeling, Barkley was in good spirits.
“I’m good,” he said, via the broadcast. “We had a good lead, so they sat me down a little bit.”
The Eagles enter their long break at a perfect time.
