Behind the Eagles’ polished front, AJ Brown’s future feels uncertain, and a sharp-eyed NFL coach isn’t buying that everything is fine.QQ

A.J. Brown still doesn’t seem happy in Philly

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown is back in trade rumor headlines after his latest cryptic message that he posted on social media.
This time, it happened after Brown took to Instagram, where he wrote, “Using me, but not using me,” under a picture of himself from Philly’s win over the Minnesota Vikings.

Brown’s continued frustration has led to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini asking around the league once more about Brown and the current state of Philly’s offense.
According to one defensive coordinator, Brown and quarterback Jalen Hurts’ connection is
“uneven.”
“It’s either a deep shot or a checkdown — not much in between,” an anonymous defensive coordinator told Russini. “The timing is just off. And you can see it on the field — the communication between Hurts and Brown just isn’t there right now.”
Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie isn’t shutting down A.J. Brown trade rumors
Russini also caught up with Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie during the NFL owners’ fall meeting to question him about Brown and what they might do if their star receiver asked for a trade.
“We do what’s best for the team,” Lurie said. “We don’t even consider it seriously unless it’s best for the Eagles. We will always do what gives us the best chance of winning big. Everything else is secondary.”
Rusinni also asked Lurie why the Eagles constantly have locker room conflicts.
“It’s not conflict. It’s intensity,” Lurie said. “The players respect it. I like intensity. The players are intense. Howie’s intense, I’m intense, the coach is intense. Every week, every situation, we approach it with intensity.
“We encourage it. We want different personalities. Sometimes, in trades or in free agency, we’ll bring people in that complement those that we have. They’re different on purpose. We don’t want sameness.”
Lurie definitely didn’t shut down Brown wanting out, but he also didn’t encourage it. We’ll see what happens between now and the Nov. 4 trade deadline.
