The Eagles’ Biggest Weapon Might Not Take the Field — and Fans Are Bracing for a Shock.QQ

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown’s Week 8 game status against the New York Giants could be in jeopardy after he didn’t practice on Wednesday or Thursday due to a hamstring injury.

He was, however, spotted working out with trainers on the side. If the Eagles want him to play on Sunday, Brown will at the very least need to practice as a limited participant on Friday.
Brown is coming off a big outing against the Eagles’ Week 7 win over the Minnesota Vikings, where he played 46 of 50 offensive snaps and reeled in four catches for 121 yards and two touchdowns.
While Brown is an important part of Philly’s offense, they can manage just fine without him.
DeVonta Smith can hold down the passing game
If Brown ends up sitting out this week, No. 2 receiver DeVonta Smith is more than capable of carrying the passing game. Heading into Sunday, he leads all Eagles receivers with 38 catches for 508 yards and two touchdowns.
Offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo said he’s enjoyed watching Smith’s growth this far into the season.
“He’s had a lot of opportunities and he has made the most of them,” Patullo said. “He’s a dynamic player, right? He’s a Heisman Trophy winner. He is one of the best players in the league still, obviously. We’re going to use him in any capacity we can, and his energy is just infectious at all times. What he brings to the table is [the] same thing, high football IQ, he gets the game, he gets moved around a lot, he understands what his job is in moments. He makes those plays and he’s been a clutch player for us, and it’s really been fun to watch him.”
The Eagles also have tight end Dallas Goedert and Saquon Barkley for Jalen Hurts to target in the air.
