🔥 HOT NEWS: George Strait proves he’s still in the spotlight as the country legend continues to command attention in a changing music landscape ⚡ML

The Kind of Country Music will be receiving honors and performing mega-concerts during the next several weeks.

Looks like living legend George Strait isn’t really riding away anytime soon.

Sure, many folks assumed that his 2014 “The Cowboy Rides Away Tour” would be the last of his live performances before he settled into retirement. But no: The King of Country Music has continued to perform one-off stadium shows and Las Vegas residencies since then — most notably, his June 2024 performance at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field, one of the largest single-headliner ticketed concerts in U.S. history, with 110,905 fans in attendance.

On Friday, we learned Strait will be sharing the spotlight with two fellow Texas-born artists, multiple-Grammy-winner Miranda Lambert and newcomer Hudson Westbrook, for his next mega-concert. He’ll be performing in Lubbock, Texas, at Texas Tech’s Jones AT&T Stadium for one night only, in-the-round, on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

Tickets go on sale via georgestrait.com at 10 a.m. CT on Friday, November 21, 2025.

The good news arrived the very same day that Strait was announced as a Grammy Award nominee, along with Chris Stapleton, in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category for “Honky Tonk Hall of Fame.” We’ll certainly be rooting for him on Sunday, February 1, when the Grammy ceremony is telecast live on CBS and Paramount+.

Another date to remember: On December 7, Strait will be celebrated at the 48th Annual Kennedy Center Honors, recognizing his lifetime of contributions to American culture through the performing arts. The event — where such luminaries as Sylvester Stallone, KISS, and Gloria Gaynor also will be honored — will be recorded to air December 23 on CBS and Paramount+.

But wait, there’s more: Next February 11, Strait will be officially inducted — along with Miranda Lambert, Don Cook, and Keith Gattis — into the Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame during a celebration at ACL Live in Austin. He’ll be honored for his enduring impact as both a performer and songwriter whose influence has shaped generations of country music.

As well he should be.
