Former Toronto Blue Jays bench coach Don Mattingly left the organization after the World Series and seems to already have found himself a new job.

Yesterday was not an easy day for Mattingly as he was once again passed up for the Baseball Hall of Fame as he received only 6 out of 14 votes and was not elected into the Hall of Fame.

Just six Hall of Fame votes each for Don Mattingly and Dale Murphy? Was that the Contemporary Baseball Era committee voting or the College Football Playoff committee?
Today was a much better day as the Philadelphia Phillies president Dave Dombrowski announced that Mattingly will be joining the Phillies as their new bench coach.
Don Mattingly, who should have made the Hall of Fame yesterday, is close to joining the Phillies as bench coach. Phillies president Dave Dombrowski told writers here.
This is the move that most fans expected Mattingly to make if he did not end up taking another managing job as his son was named GM of the Phillies last year.

Mattingly is going from one stacked team to another as the Phillies seem to be in the conversation for World Series contenders every year due to their powerful lineup.
The Blue Jays fan base wish Mattingly nothing but the best in this new chapter with the Phillies and all the success as long as it is not against the Blue Jays.
