💥 BREAKING NEWS: “Still Not Dead” — 92-Year-Old Willie Nelson Fires Back at the Endless Fake Death Posts ⚡ML

Rumors about the Texas music legend dying were being spread long before AI, but the fake posts are now more convincing than ever.

HOUSTON — Willie Nelson is one of the world’s most beloved celebrities and that makes him a favorite target for fake internet rumors, including false reports that he died.

Now, the Texas icon is poking fun at the phony posts on his Instagram.

“If you believe those AI death stories one more time…,” Nelson posted along with photos of him lying on a couch in a robe.

Rumors about the 92-year-old music legend dying were being spread long before AI. Nelson even released a song called “Still Not Dead” back in 2025.

“I woke up still not dead again today

The news said I was gone to my dismay

Don’t bury me, I’ve got a show to play

And I woke up still not dead again today.”

He was asked about the inspiration in a 2017 interview.

“I got up two or three times in the last couple of years and read the paper where I’d passed away,” Nelson told The Boot in 2017. “So I just wanted to let ’em know that’s a lot of horses–t.”

The question of mortality comes up with every milestone birthday, which is every year at Nelson’s age.

“I’m not worried about it. I don’t feel bad. I don’t hurt anywhere. I don’t have any reason to worry about dying,” Nelson told AP when he turned 91.

The Abbott, Texas, native, who has a ranch in the Texas Hill Country, took a break from touring last year, citing unspecified health reasons, but he performed at an MD Anderson Cancer Center fundraiser in Houston last month.

Nelson is also still cranking out music to add to his prolific catalogue of over 150 albums. “Oh What a Beautiful World” received a 2026 Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Country Album. He’ll compete against his son Lukas in that category. “Last Leaf on the Tree,” produced by son Micah, is nominated for Best Americana Album.

The title song of that album appears to be a tribute to all of the loved ones Nelson has outlived over the years and the musical legacy he’ll leave one day.

“I’m the last leaf on the tree.

The autumn took the rest, but it won’t take me.

“I’ll be here through eternity.

“If you wanna know how long, if they cut down this tree, I’ll show up in a song.”

“I believe in reincarnation. It’s the only thing that makes sense to me. But I don’t worry about it. We’re all gonna die, and there’s no use rushing it.” Nelson told The New Yorker last year. “I’ve lost a lot of friends … Kris Kristofferson. And Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash. I am one of the last ones. I don’t know why I’m still here, but here we are. Last man standing.”
