LOS ANGELES, CA – Los Angeles Dodgers utility star Tommy Edman has provided a positive update on his recovery after undergoing surgery earlier this month to repair a long-nagging right ankle injury. The update reaffirms the organization’s optimistic timeline, with the multi-positional player determined to be fully ready for the 2026 season.
Edman, who battled the persistent ankle issue for most of the 2025 campaign, confirmed the surgery was successful and expressed his hope that this procedure will finally resolve the issue for good.

Appearing on ESPN LA Radio’s The Sedano and Kap Morning Show, Edman discussed the status of his recovery, which is crucial for the Dodgers as they plan their outfield and infield alignment for their quest for a three-peat:
“It’s doing all right,” Edman said of his ankle. “I recently got the surgery, so hoping that fixes it for good. It’s something I needed to do after dealing with it the past two seasons. They said everything went smooth. Hopefully it’s a good recovery and I get back to 100%.”
Dodgers General Manager Brandon Gomes previously confirmed that the surgery took place in mid-November and provided the team’s official prognosis: Edman is expected to be ready around the beginning of Spring Training 2026.
