NFL fans were upset with referees after they flagged Green Bay Packers cornerback Keisean Nixon following an altercation with Chicago Bears wide receiver Luther Burden. The wideout choked Nixon after they exchanged a few words, right in front of two referees. The incident resulted in a flag thrown at Nixon.

The decision upset plenty of fans. Many accused the referees of betting on games and exhorted the NFL to do a better job selecting the officials.

The referees called unnecessary roughness on Nixon. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur was fuming after the decision.

The Packers and Bears took off after that moment, scoring 42 points combined in a duel that was decided in the final seconds. Nixon ended up having a crucial participation at the end of the game.
