⚡ Chiefs’ Steve Spagnuolo exposes the shocking misconception about the Texans that no one else seems to see.QQ

Steve Spagnuolo knows the Texans offense is legit.

It’s been uttered a million times now – the Kansas City Chiefs cannot afford to lose again. They need to win out and get some help from other teams around the NFL. Beating the Houston Texans, another team in the hunt for the postseason, would go a long way. But, they have to deal with maybe the best defense in the NFL. And, the offense isn’t too bad either.
See, there’s a common misconception about the Texans’ offense – people think it’s not good because of either their record or how it looked at the beginning of the season. And, if you’re a real casual fan, you probably think it stinks still because it did last season. It’s much better now, and Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo isn’t falling for the misconception that it’s bad.
The 2026 NFL QB market is shaping up to absolutely CHAOTIC
“All of a sudden, it’s all clicking, in my opinion,” Spagnuolo told reporters Thursday. “I look at that whole team (Texans), first of all. They’re well put together; they play off their defense. They’re really good on defense, but getting the quarterback (Texans QB C.J. Stroud) back, this may be one of the best overall receiver groups that we’re going to see.
“They can run the football, and they have a quarterback that’s dynamic with his feet and good at getting out of trouble, so it doesn’t get any easier. There are no soft pitches in this league. We need to play better defense. Hopefully, being at home, we can tick it up a little bit.”
The Chiefs have to put pressure on Texans QB C.J. Stroud
The biggest issue defensively, and maybe on the entire team, that the Chiefs have had this season is their inability to put pressure on the quarterback. Even Chris Jones is struggling there. Per Next Gen Stats, Jones has posted his lowest pressure rate since at least 2018 this year. His 8.8% is the lowest among Chiefs defenders who rushed at least 150 times, and his 3.8% quick-pressure rate is his lowest across any season since 2018.
The other misconception is that the Texans’ offensive line is bad. It’s not. It’s the best it’s been right now since C.J. Stroud has been the quarterback of the Texans. Pressuring him is not going to be easy at all.
And, Stroud is good at avoiding pressure in the pocket by moving around with some pretty amazing footwork. But everyone knows that when you do rattle home and get him under pressure, that’s where you start to win the game. Stroud is an amazing quarterback and one of the best in the league. However, he’s not yet the type to carry the load and be Superman regardless of whether his offensive line is holding up or not – not like we’ve seen Patrick Mahomes do a million times.
This game is going to be fun to watch, but the Chiefs need a win, and it starts with shutting down the Texans’ offense.
