The Green Bay Packers will finally have Jayden Reed back. After missing 10 consecutive games due to a broken collarbone, the third-year wide receiver is back and has been activated from injured reserve on Saturday, a strong indication that he will be available to play against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. He’s officially questionable. As a corresponding move, the Packers waived wide receiver Malik Heath.

Colts season shifts with MAJOR injury…

Reed leads the Packers in yards per route run this year and is one of the most explosive weapons on the roster. Earlier this season, he was also handling a foot injury — with the time to recover his shoulder, he had both issues addressed.

A second-round pick back in 2023, Jayden Reed led the Packers in receiving yards in both of his first two seasons in the NFL.

Brenton Cox will have to wait

Edge defender Brenton Jr. is not back yet, though. The third-year player has handling a groin injury since the Week 1 game against the Detroit Lions and spent most of the season on injured reserve. He’s been designated for return to practice this week, which means he has two more weeks before the deadline to being activated.

Green Bay is also without former first-round pick Lukas Van Ness, recovering from a foot injury, and rookie fifth-round pick Collin Oliver, who’s been designated to return from the physically unable to perform list but is not ready for his NFL debut yet.

No elevations this week

The Packers decided not to elevate any player from the practice squad this week.

The NFL increased the practice squad size during COVID-19 and kept some of the adjusted rules. Of the 16 players, 10 must have up to two accrued seasons, while the other six have no restrictions. There’s also an extra spot for a player with an International Pathway Program exemption, which Green Bay is using for English defensive tackle Dante Barnett.

Throughout the season, teams can elevate practice squad players for gameday. Each player can be elevated three times for the same team without being a member of the active 53-man roster. After the game, the player reverts to the PS.
