📢 TOP STORY: During injury recovery, Andrew Walters delivers life-changing news, reminding Guardians fans that the biggest wins don’t always happen on the field ⚡.NL

Andrew Walters Eyes 2026 Return – and a Wedding Ring
Andrew Walters didn’t get much time on the mound for the Cleveland Guardians in 2025, but he’s still making headlines – just not the kind that show up in a box score. While continuing his rehab from a season-ending injury, the 24-year-old right-hander recently shared some big personal news: he’s engaged.

It’s a welcome bit of positivity for Walters, who’s been grinding through a long recovery process since undergoing surgery to repair a torn lat tendon back in June. The rehab timeline?
Somewhere in the 8-to-10-month range, which puts his availability for the start of the 2026 season in serious doubt. For now, he remains on the 60-day injured list.

Before the injury, Walters was starting to flash the potential that made him a second-round pick in the 2023 MLB Draft. He debuted in September 2024, getting a late-season call-up after a strong showing with Triple-A Columbus.

In just nine appearances with the Guardians, he showed enough to suggest he could be a key bullpen piece moving forward. The sample size was small, but the stuff?
That was loud.

Walters isn’t your typical pitching prospect. He’s been a reliever pretty much his entire career – a rarity for someone drafted that high – and he’s made a name for himself by missing bats at an elite clip.
In the minors, he posted a 36.3% strikeout rate, which is the kind of number that perks up the ears of any pitching coach. His 2.17 ERA is equally eye-catching.

The one red flag? A 13% walk rate that’ll need to come down if he wants to lock down high-leverage innings in the bigs.
Still, the Guardians don’t have many arms in the system with Walters’ upside out of the bullpen. If he can stay on track with his recovery, he could be a major addition in the second half of next season – just in time to bolster a bullpen that could use some reinforcements.

For now, though, the focus is on getting healthy – and planning a wedding. Walters may not be throwing fastballs just yet, but he’s clearly still moving forward.
