All season long, it has felt like a big issue for the Kansas City Chiefs has been their team chemistry and the lack of fire or emotion on the sideline, like we are used to seeing. So, when Kareem Hunt fumbled the ball late in the game against the Indianapolis Colts, the team responded very well. Travis Kelce immediately went to Hunt and let him know they still believe in him.

After the game, the players expressed how huge it was for Hunt to do what he did afterward: lead the Chiefs down the field to get into field-goal range and win the game.

The Chiefs still have the same burning passion for football and each other

“He dominated today,” wide receiver Rashee Rice told reporters regarding Kareem Hunt’s big day. “It was just huge for him to get over that fumble at the end of the game and finish as strong as he could.”

This team hasn’t had the season it hoped for. In fact, this is the first time in the history of the Chiefs with Patrick Mahomes at quarterback that the Chiefs started 5-5 through ten games. At times, they have looked lifeless. At times, they have looked as if they’re going through the motions. When you’re often on the sidelines, no one is hyping anyone up or letting each other know they’re ready for battle. At least, none of this happened as often as we saw over the last five or six years of the dynasty.

We didn’t see any of that on Sunday.

The way the Chiefs had Hunt’s back in such a critical situation is a huge reason why they were able to go down the field and score again. That gave Hunt the confidence he needed from his teammates. He ended up playing his best game since he’s been back in Kansas City, too.
