You Won’t Believe the Legal Loophole Whoopi Goldberg Just Shredded on Air—This Is the New Line in the Trump Debate.NH

Trump critic and The View host Whoopi Goldberg has stunned audiences by tearing up a producer’s note live on air after being told to correct a statement about the US President.
The 69-year-old comedian and actor was handed a note by co-host Sunny Hostin during Monday’s broadcast of the ABC talk show, prompting a heated and awkward exchange.
Hostin had earlier discussed Donald Trump’s reported pardon of Binance founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, the convicted head of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, claiming the President had admitted he didn’t know who Zhao was.

“The Trump family has made about $1.8 billion, profited off of this government and he said that Joe Biden didn’t know who he was pardoning using an autopen. How come you don’t know who this guy is?” Hostin said.
Goldberg interjected: “Because he used an autopen.”
Moments later, Hostin passed Goldberg a note while she was mid-sentence.
“What the hell? What?” Goldberg said, visibly annoyed as she read it.
“I love it when Sunny passes notes!” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin said, attempting to lighten the mood.
Viewers watched on as the Sister Act star then began to rip the note in half.
Goldberg shot back: “We don’t know if Trump used an autopen to pardon- it was a joke!”
Hostin clarified: “We don’t know if Trump used an autopen, but we do know that he didn’t know who that crypto guy was.”
Goldberg kept tearing up the note before launching into a furious rant about how people no longer understand jokes.
“Oh come on! Well, I’m sorry. The hardest thing about this job now is no one understands nuance,” she said.

“You know when you hear a joke, when somebody’s fooling around, when they’re not saying something specific. Especially on this show. I’m very specific when I’m pointing stuff out. When I’m making jokes, you know when I’m making jokes. This is ridiculous.”
It was later revealed by The Mail that the note Hostin handed her had actually come from The View’s producers, not from Hostin herself.
The audience erupted in applause before Goldberg swiftly pivoted the discussion to Trump’s immigration policies.

Interestingly, her latest outburst follows another on-air moment just over a week ago that drew ridicule from Sky News host Danica De Giorgio, who mocked Goldberg for overreacting to an AI-generated parody of Trump.

“The left are so humourless. They’ve got no humour left in them. Whoopi Goldberg is a prime example,” De Giorgio told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“It’s a joke Whoopi, lighten up, the world’s not going to end, it’s ok, it’s an AI meme for goodness sake, seriously.”
