With Miranda Lambert and Hudson Westbrook joining him, George Strait’s Texas Tech Stadium show becomes the rare one-night moment country fans refuse to miss. ML

Wreck ’em, George Strait.
George Strait has been doing summer stadium tours over the last several years, and while he doesn’t stay on the road year-round like he used to, those select stadium shows always sell out, and it’s impressive that he continues to be able to do that into his 70s.
Just a couple of weeks ago, he announced a show in Death Valley, home of the Clemson Tigers in Clemson, South Carolina, at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026. It’s a one-night-only, in-the-round concert that features two incredible opening acts in Cody Johnson and Wyatt Flores… but it sounds like he has another show on the books for next year.
On November 6, Strait shared a post on Instagram teasing a Texas concert with the caption:
“An announcement incoming for the Lone Star State.”
Given the imagery, many guessed it could be in Lubbock, Texas, which is approximately 425 miles from Strait’s hometown of Pearsall, Texas. He was born in Poteet, Texas, and raised on a family ranch in nearby Pearsall, Texas, and the poster shows a road with a mile marker that is “425 miles” to the Lone Star State.

And it appears that Strait is headed to Raiderland in West Texas to perform at Jones AT&T Stadium. This afternoon, the Texas Tech athletics account shared a cryptic post of a cowboy hat in the middle of their football field, which, of course, could be in reference to College Gameday, which is being held there this weekend for their game against BYU.
However, it appears they are referring to something non-sports related…
Brian Davis, a contributor to major Texas news outlets like the Houston Chronicle, The Dallas News, and more, shared a tweet that Strait is to take the stage in Lubbock, Texas, in 2026.
On top of that, some folks have seen George Strait tickets on the Texas Tech calendar…

While fans were fired up about the news before the school confirmed it, moments ago, Texas Tech announced a one-night-only show in Lubbock, Texas, featuring Miranda Lambert and Hudson Westbrook on April 25th.
Talk about a star-studded lineup of Texans taking the stage that night.
“There’s nothing quite like a George Strait show in the lone star state. Over a decade since his last show in Lubbock, The King returns to Raiderland with an all Texans line up, including @mirandalambert and @hudsonwestbrook. Sign up now for early access to tickets at georgestrait.com/shows. Link in bio!”
Jones AT&T Stadium is going to be ROCKING on April 25th.
Someone fire up “Take Me To Texas.”
