“The Voice” coach Reba McEntire is stuck in a lavender haze amid her engagement to fiancé Rex Linn.
The country superstar, 70, told USA Today in an interview published Sunday, November 4, she “feels like a teenager again.”
“It sparkles all the time, and it doesn’t matter that I don’t think I’ve ever cleaned it,” McEntire told the outlet of her diamond bauble. “I’m having a blast…It’s just a wonderful time.”
The “I’m a Survivor” artist added, “I’m 70 years old, 50 years in the business, and I’m happier now than I’ve ever been in my life.”
Reba McEntire Announced Her Engagement in September
The pair began dating in June 2020, after originally meeting back in 1991, and have been inseparable ever since.
“Rex meets me at the garage when I get out of the car. He’ll fix me a drink if I need it,” McEntire gushed to People in October 2023 about their relationship. “He’ll sit there and talk to me because I’ve talked my head off all day long, so he knows I just need to relax and chill.”
Linn popped the question over Christmas 2024, and the couple managed to keep it a secret for nine months.
“I said, ‘What are you doing?’ and he said, ‘Would you marry me? I want to cross the finish line with you,’” McEntire recalled to USA Today. “He said, ‘You’re not saying anything!’ And I finally said, ‘Well, yes! YES!’ He thought he was going to have to jump into the creek.”
News of their engagement broke after they stepped out to the 2025 Emmy Awards in September.
“I totally was thrilled to death. I asked him, ‘Well, when do you want to do this?’ He said, ‘Let’s have fun with the engagement time.’ So we haven’t set a date or anything. We’re just enjoying each other,” the “Happy’s Place” star told People in October.
“God saved the best for last,” McEntire gushed to USA Today earlier this week.
Reba McEntire Was Married Twice Before
Her marriage to Linn would mark the “Reba” star’s third marriage.
McEntire married steer wrestling champion and rancher Charlie Battles in 1976. He was 10 years her senior and had two sons from a previous marriage. They ultimately divorced nine years later when she moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue her singing career.
Two years later, the “Fancy” artist married her then-manager Narvel Blackstock. She became stepmother to Blackstock’s three children — Chassidy, Shawna, and Brandon — before the pair welcomed a child of their own. McEntire gave birth to son Shelby Steven McEntire Blackstock in February 1990.
After 26 years of marriage, the pair announced their split with a joint statement in August 2015.
