George Strait Teams Up With H-E-B for a Festive Duet of Christmas Commercials Fans Can’t Stop Watching. ML

You know it’s Christmas time in Texas when two of the biggest names in the state partner for some commercial holiday cheer.
In case you missed it, H-E-B recently released a batch of holiday-themed ads featuring the voice of none other than country music legend George Strait. Specifically, strains from his 1986 holiday classic, “When It’s Christmas Time in Texas.”
The H-E-B spots, which roll with the slogan “The Heart of Texas Holidays,” feature various Lone Star spins on your traditional holiday moments.

In one commercial, a boy in a truck with his mom hops out to stick a carrot nose in a giant snowman made of hay bales. Another half-minute ad features friends and family cooking up that special holiday dish Texas-style, as in freshly rolled tamales and a freshly fried turkey. There’s also a 15-second spot with a dad and daughter dressing up a gingerbread house — make that a gingerbread ranch with cookie barns and horses aplenty.
Interestingly enough, the shortest spot has the most views on YouTube. At the time of this writing, “Gingerbread Ranch” had 13.1 million views, while the “One dish, many ways” ad had 3.6 million and the “Missing Carrot” ad had 3.1 million.
