George Strait finally reveals the location for his epic one-night-only Texas concert, sending fans into a frenzy. ML

One day after teasing an “incoming” announcement for the Lone Star State, the “King of Country” has revealed when he’s returning to Texas, and what special guest is joining him.

George Strait is performing for one-night only in Lubbock at Texas Tech University’s Jones AT&T Stadium along with fellow country stars Miranda Lambert and Hudson Westbrook.

“There’s nothing quite like a George Strait show in the lone star state,” Strait’s post read on X. “Over a decade since his last show in Lubbock, The King returns to Raiderland with an all Texans line up.”

Presale tickets go up for grabs at 10 a.m. on November 17. Public tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on November 21. Fans can sign up for presale access here.

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. The “King of Country” could soon be riding back into the Lone Star State. When, where and how many times are still up in the air.

That’s right, George Strait is taking a break from touring across the country and returning to his roots. Strait posted to social media on Thursday, November 6, that an announcement was “incoming” for the Lone Star State, featuring a cartoon of a Texas highway flanked by an oil derrick and a horse, with a sign saying “next exit 425 miles” in the post. What the announcement will be is still a mystery, but fans are speculating a Texas tour could be in the works from the Poteet native.

Strait still lives in the Texas Hill Country and has been spotted at Dairy Queens and country clubs, but the King has not performed in Texas since his record-breaking show at Texas A&M University’s Kyle Field on June 15, 2024. That event proved to be the largest single-ticketed concert in U.S. history, with an attendance of 110,905 fans.

Strait did perform at a Boerne benefits concert for victims of the Fourth of July floods in the Texas Hill Country, but that was a private show for donors. A new tour would be Strait’s first in the Lone Star State since his Cowboy Rides Away tour in 2014. Although the Cowboy Rides Away didn’t end up being Strait’s retirement tour, his performances in Texas have declined ever since. Given the flood of people who saw him at Kyle Field, there’s no telling how many would show up to a new statewide tour for the “King of Country.”

MySA will keep an eye out for the “incoming” update from Strait.
