Rams Fan Arrested in Santa Clara After Armed Threat Against 49ers Fans Before Kickoff

Santa Clara, CA – November 9, 2025 — Authorities in Santa Clara arrested a Los Angeles Rams fan on Sunday afternoon after he allegedly made armed threats toward San Francisco 49ers fans outside

Levi’s Stadium, just moments before kickoff of the highly anticipated 49ers–Rams divisional matchup.

The suspect, identified as Evan Blake Johnson, 34, of Pasadena, California, has been charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, carrying a firearm without a license, and disorderly conduct, officials confirmed.

According to police, the confrontation occurred around 10:05 a.m. in Red Lot 1, where tailgating crowds had gathered ahead of the NFC West showdown. Witnesses reported that the man, wearing Rams apparel, became verbally aggressive toward nearby 49ers fans and pulled out a handgun while shouting threats. 

Security officers at the scene immediately restrained the suspect before Santa Clara Police Department arrived. Officers recovered a loaded .40-caliber pistol and additional ammunition from the man’s vehicle. Fortunately, no shots were fired and no injuries were reported.

The area was temporarily locked down while authorities interviewed witnesses and reviewed security footage. Within 30 minutes, the situation was deemed secure, and fans were allowed to resume pregame festivities before kickoff.
