Bailey Zimmerman wants to set the record straight after many folks have raised questions asking whether or not he uses drugs.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, Nov. 21, the 25-year-old country star insisted that he has not engaged in the use of any medication for recreational purposes. Acknowledging his rapid and restless behavior, Zimmerman informed his fans and followers that he had been diagnosed with ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) at an early age.

According to Mayo Clinic, a person who struggles with ADHD may have a “hard time paying attention, being hyperactive, and being impulsive.” While there is no cure for ADHD, treatments are available and “can involve medicines and behavior therapies.”

“Alright, everybody always asks me, ‘Uh, Bailey. Are you on drugs? Do you do drugs? How come you have so much energy? Are you on drugs?” Zimmerman says in the video, as his demeanor suggests, he’s heard people ask the question to the point of nausea. “No. I have ADHD, a severe case of ADHD, which gives me so much energy. But I don’t do drugs. Clearing the air. Don’t do drugs.”

“I have ADHD… I don’t do drugs,” he further explained in the caption alongside the post.

Fans, who have seen Zimmerman perform live in concert, took a moment to praise him for being a ball of energy at his shows — something they have said they look forward to the most.

He Has Been Known for His High Energy Concerts

“The energy is what makes your concerts so entertaining!” One person wrote in the comments section of the post. “Seeing you for the 4th and 5th time next year.”

“We love your energy, Bailey,” another person added. “You always seem like you are having fun and would be so much fun to hang out with.”

A third fan wrote, “Your energy is great. I love it when you blast out on stage, jumping around like a rabbit. You can hear it in your voice too when you record that you’re not afraid to hit the notes.”

This Isn’t the First Time Bailey Zimmerman Talked About His ADHD

Throughout his career, Zimmerman has been open about his ADHD diagnosis, often sharing insight into the condition that affects millions of people all over the world. Zimmerman has also previously shared his personal reaction to having already tried medication to help his ADHD symptoms.

While speaking on The Bobby Bones Show, Zimmerman said he tried two different medicines for ADHD, but neither of them worked in his case. One made him sleepwalk while the other made him feel like a zombie.

“I just started going, ‘OK. I have ADHD. I’m gonna be like me,” he said, explaining that he no longer treats his condition and has rather learned to live with ADHD. “Some people may not like that, and that’s OK, but it’s better to be me than try to put medicine in my body to make me not me.”
