Confirmed: Max Fried Named to All-MLB First Team in “Dominant” First Year as a Yankee.vc

The Yankees’ $218 million ace lived up to every penny of his record-breaking contract, capping his stellar 2025 season by being named to the All-MLB First Team.

NEW YORKMax Fried‘s first season in pinstripes has been officially crowned as one of the most dominant in baseball.

Following the 2025 MLB Awards show, the New York Yankees ace was named to the All-MLB First Team, a “monumental” achievement in his first year with the team. Fried, 31, signed a record-breaking eight-year, $218 million contract last offseason, and he proceeded to deliver one of the best debut seasons in franchise history.

The All-MLB honor is the second of Fried’s career (his first coming in 2020) and serves as the capstone on a year where he became the anchor of the Yankees’ rotation, especially with Gerrit Cole missing the entire season.

A Dominant Debut Season

Fried’s 2025 campaign was a masterclass in pitching. He not only met the sky-high expectations of his contract but exceeded them, establishing himself as a true ace in the demanding New York market.

His 2025 All-MLB season included:

  • 19 Wins (Led all of Major League Baseball)
  • 2.86 ERA
  • 195.1 Innings Pitched
  • 189 Strikeouts
  • 1.10 WHIP

Fried’s performance was not only elite but also a model of consistency, giving the Yankees a legitimate stopper every fifth day and leading them to a 94-win season.

The All-MLB selection was just one of several honors for Fried in his first year in the Bronx. He also took home his fourth career Gold Glove Award, solidifying his reputation as one of the best all-around athletes at his position.

Alongside Fried, the 2025 All-MLB First Team rotation also included Paul Skenes (Pirates), Tarik Skubal (Tigers), Garrett Crochet (Red Sox), and Yoshinobu Yamamoto (Dodgers).
