NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has revealed that the Super Bowl could soon be headed to a new city.
The Super Bowl is, of course, the most-watched event in the United States every year and is likely an envy among major cities.
Nashville, Tennessee, is one of the few such locations to have never hosted one, but that could be about to change. The Titans hosted a ceremony to ring in the topping out of their new Nissan Stadium on Friday, with Goodell in attendance.
The venue, a 60,000-seater stadium, is set to open its doors in 2027.

The commissioner, who recently offered an update on the league’s expansion plans, was questioned about the possibility of a Super Bowl taking place there and suggested that the city should be prepared for what would be its first-ever.
“Listen, it’s an important franchise, a wonderful franchise for the NFL,” Goodell said on the Titans. “And I know that the work that they’ve done here from the moment you’ve had the draft [in 2019] and what you did to change the trajectory of the draft — you actually took the draft and made it yours. But you did it in a way that made it incredibly impactful for the future of the NFL — and the Titans.”
“And I think all of us at that moment had that wake-up moment that this is a Super Bowl-ready city. The one thing that’s missing is the stage,” he added.“I think now you’re building a great stage. We have a process, but I have every expectation that you’re gonna see that type of thing in the future.”
Nashville is one of the bidders for the 2029 Super Bowl and is facing competition from cities such as Las Vegas, which recently hosted for the first time and was quite successful.
The city is known for its nightlife and country music – it’s not called Music City for nothing, after all, and it may very well be among the following three locations to host after 2028.
The venues for the next three Super Bowls are already set. The upcoming Super Bowl 60 will take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, with one significant change announced.
It will be held at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles in 2027 and head to Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium the following year.
