Blue Jays Fans React to Myles Straw Crashing Kyle Tucker’s Baby Announcement .MH

Straw doing some front office work this offseason

Myles Straw may be suited for a role as a Major League Baseball General Manager when his playing days are over. The Toronto Blue Jays outfielder is putting in the work this offseason by trying to make the team better and he’s doing it in ways that’s catching the attention of many Blue Jays fans online.
Over the weekend Straw was playing the role of “active recruiter” as he was trying to entice one of the biggest names on the market to join the Blue Jays.
Blue Jays fans didn’t miss Myles Straw crashing Kyle Tucker’s baby announcement

It wasn’t a very subtle suggestion by Straw when he reached out on X (formerly twitter) to free agent outfielder Kyle Tucker. The former Chicago Cub announced that he and his wife are expecting their first child and Straw was quick to let them know their little bundle of joy would be a welcomed addition to the Blue Jays family.
Straw said, “Let’s go!!!! Now come to the Jays, I can help babysit.” Many Blue Jays fans then chimed in with playful comments as well. One user said, “Kid will be a good Canadian. Congratulations.” Another said, “Straw will get a statue of him reading to a baby outside of the Dome if he pulls this off.”
Straw came to the Blue Jays under some unenviable circumstances. After spending most of 2024 in the minor leagues, the Blue Jays acquired him along with some international bonus pool money. The thought was that the Blue Jays were close to landing Japanese pitcher Roki Sasaki and with the money they got from Cleveland in the deal, they were about to, well, seal the deal with Sasaki.
But Sasaki went to the Dodgers and the Blue Jays were left with just Straw, who was thought to be an unimportant piece of the 2025 roster puzzle. In one of the most unforeseen twists of the past year, Straw not only had a good season, he was a positive bWAR player for the Blue Jays, producing 2.9 bWAR while playing 137 games. He hit a respectable .262/.313/.367 while giving the Blue Jays Grade A defence.
Straw was also talked about as one of the best “clubhouse guys” on a team that was full of clubhouse friendships. While the addition of Tucker could likely mean less playing time for Straw, it’s fun to see him actively trying to bring big name players into the fold. Tucker is arguably the biggest free agent on the market this season. The 28-year-old has a 27.3 bWAR with 147 home runs, and has hit .273/.358/.507 in his eight years in the big leagues.
