đŠ Whoâs safe and whoâll start a fight at Thanksgiving: the Jordan Love, Aaron Rodgers, and Matt LaFleur topics that could ignite Packers dinner drama.QQ

Itâs a time to spend, not necessarily to fight with your family about football stuff.

Itâs family time, for better or worse. Thanksgiving is on Thursday, dads, moms, kids, uncles, everyone get together to eat a completely insane amount of food, speak ill of relatives who are not nearby, and watch hours and hours of football.
This week, there will be great opportunities to have intense and productive conversations, but also to fight for topics where dialectic wonât realistically be in play.
The Rams looked UNSTOPPABLE against the Buccaneers and now sit alone atop the NFCThe Rams looked UNSTOPPABLE against the Buccaneers and now sit alone atop the NFC
So, letâs discuss here some topics that may arise during dinner on Thanksgiving and reach a final decision: Is it worth discussing that with your family members? As an introspect, I could be okay saying no to all of them, but letâs try it out.
Jordan Love comparisons to Aaron Rodgers
This is rough. Jordan Love has been good throughout his career, heâs been excellent this season. The bar is pretty high to play quarterback in Green Bay, though, and the comparisons to Aaron Rodgers are almost inevitable. The thing is: Love doesnât need to be as good as Rodgers was for the Packers to be successful. Moreover, they are different types of quarterbacks, who do different things at a high level. This one is not worth the stress.

Should Matt LaFleur be fired?
After weeks and weeks of being called a Matt LaFleur apologist on social media, Iâm here to tell you that Matt LaFleur sure has some flaws, but heâs a hell of a coach and, more than anything else, a great offensive mind. In this specific case, your father might be an old head that wants a yelling coach leading the Packers, but you can stand on your world view â unless youâre also an old head, which would still make it an appealing conversation.
Verdict: Talk
Quay Walkerâs future
I just donât see the value of paying Quay Walker anything close to 15M a year.
I decided to talk about Quay Walker on social media this week, because I donât think the Packers should extend the off-ball linebacker unless itâs a truly team-friendly deal. Based on his level of play, he shouldnât be worth anything close to $15 million a year. Surprisingly, I received a lot of pushback from fans who think Walker is an elite playmaker at his position â even if every metric indicates his coverage skills are limited and his run defense is probably overrated. I got tired.
Verdict: Avoid
Micah Parsons trade
Why wouldnât you want to talk about it? Unless you have an uncle whoâs a die-hard Cowboys fan, every Packers fan around the world is elated with the process and the results of acquiring Micah Parsons. Heâs been awesome, and watching him play against the Lions on Thanksgiving should be a delight. Someone might argue that moving on from Kenny Clark wasnât ideal, but thatâs just a secondary topic.
Verdict: Talk
Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgersâ topics in general
Vaccination, off-field drama, Netflix documentaries. Just by listing those topics, Iâm already feeling like you should be mad while reading it. Rodgers is still playing football, but he was injured against the Chicago Bears and wonât play on Thanksgiving either. So skip those without a doubt.

Is Emanuel Wilson better than Josh Jacobs?
Look, the answer to this is no. But Wilson has been amazing whenever he gets a chance for the Packers. This can actually be a productive way of telling your grandfather that running backs are not as important now as they were when he was a kid â please, be friendly and donât tell him that running backs donât matter.

Whatâs happening to Rashan Gary?
Gary is not a high snapcount guy, as Matt LaFleur said. But he is a big contract guy, and he has to produce more to justify it, especially with Parsons attracting so much attention from the opposing offenses. This one could be a good discussion, because itâs hard to have a definitive opinion about the topic during the season.
Verdict: Talk
Rich Bisaccia
This should be unanimous. Most Packers fans donât understand how Bisaccia is the highest-paid special teams coordinator in football and how underwhelming his unit looks at times. Daniel Whelan is the silver lining. Your cousin whoâs a Raiders fan might like him, though.
