The Philadelphia Eagles are a team that is consistently winning this season. For years now, they’ve been one of the top teams in the NFC on a consistent basis and have reached new heights of success that many teams haven’t boasted recently. Even then, there is an odd feeling surrounding the roster and coaching staff that many fans can feel from the outside.

There feels like there’s a bit of unrest with the style of play that the offense currently has. Reports have shuffled around recently that frustration looms, even as the team finds ways to win. Jason Kelce just got the chance to discuss that premise and what sort of emotions can go on inside an NFL locker room, even for a successful team.

During a recent radio hit, the former Eagles star center revealed that he did not speak to Lane Johnson for a full offseason after the two players made differing comments to the media regarding practice. The former All-Pro center for the Eagles also mentioned that a burden falls naturally on Hurts because he is the team’s QB. The media wants to poke at him, and players may even feel that he is the root of some of the issues simply because he plays the position that he does.

“I think the quotes on Jalen – I think that there are frustrations within a team that build up continually and I think Jalen gets a lot of the highlighting of that, again, because he’s the quarterback.” — Kelce on potential frustration with the Eagles QB

Kelce also revealed that he thinks the only way for players to truly work through these situations is to be accountable. They need to talk to one another and avoid putting up a wall that doesn’t allow their perceived truth to go through it. The Eagles must try to work it out themselves, and that’s not some small task. Football is an incredibly emotional sport, and the NFL is the highest level of it.

Philly is 8-2. Many believe this could be a non-story due to the fact that they are still garnering W’s in the win column. That being said, the long-term impacts of this sort of unrest can push players to places they never expected both on a nd off the football field. Kelce’s comments prove as much.
