San Diego Padres Join Forces With Food Bank to Make This Thanksgiving Special for the Community.NL

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The San Diego Padres and the Padres Foundation are partnering up with the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank to distribute Thanksgiving meals to underserved families.

The event, presented by Bank of America, will take place Saturday, Nov. 22, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Petco Park.

Padres All-Star pitcher Jason Adam will join volunteers to help distribute Thanksgiving turkeys, fresh produce, and sides to 1,000 families identified by charities throughout the county, including the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA and the Boys & Girls Club of San Diego.

The Padres were eliminated in the postseason this year after falling to the Chicago Cubs in the National League Wild Card Series. In September, Adam suffered a season-ending injury when he ruptured a tendon in his left quadricep and was carted off the field during a 4-3 loss to the Baltimore Orioles.

Prior to his injury, Adam tossed 70 strikeouts during the regular season and posted a 1.93 ERA.
