Packers Star Faces Heartbreak Off the Field Just a Day After Being Benched on the Injured List.QQ

Can the Patriots Go All the Way? Ashley Haas' NFL Week 10 Recap ft. John Hansen

Green Bay Packers fans were already stunned by the team’s announcement that one of their most vital offensive line pieces had been officially placed on the Injured Reserve list due to a serious leg injury. But just one day later, another unexpected twist sent shockwaves through the NFL world — the player reportedly went through a breakup with his girlfriend while still recovering on crutches.

Sources close to the situation confirmed that the breakup occurred quietly within 24 hours after the player was carted off the field during the Packers’ 7 to 10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Initially diagnosed as an ankle injury, further medical evaluations revealed a fractured lower left leg, forcing the player into long-term recovery.

Head coach Matt LaFleur later told reporters it is “highly unlikely” the player will return for the rest of the 2025 season and called the situation “a real shame.”

That’s when the name Elgton Jenkins was officially revealed.

💔 Season-ending injury followed by personal heartbreak

Elgton Jenkins, 29, is widely regarded as one of the Packers’ most versatile and reliable offensive linemen. A two-time Pro Bowler and former All-Pro selection, he has played multiple positions across the line and had appeared in nine games this season prior to the injury.

Reports indicate that Jenkins’ relationship had already been under strain due to a demanding schedule and mounting emotional pressure. After being placed on IR and ruled out indefinitely, the couple decided to part ways. The breakup reportedly happened shortly after he left the stadium following the injury.

🧱 Packers adjust in the face of adversity

Jenkins’ absence leaves a significant hole in the Packers’ offensive line, a unit already dealing with depth issues throughout the season. In response, the team signed veteran OL Lecitus Smith back to the practice squad as a short-term fix. With a record of 5-3-1 heading into the second half of the season, Green Bay is in the thick of a playoff push and must quickly adapt — starting with a key matchup against the New York Giants in Week 11.

With both physical and emotional wounds in play, Jenkins’ story has drawn widespread sympathy from fans. Many across social media have sent their support, hoping for his full recovery on and off the field.
