Team USA Getting “Even Stronger” with Addition of Pete Crow-Armstrong and Corbin Carroll.vc

In a major boost to its 2026 World Baseball Classic ambitions, Team USA has added two of the most dynamic young outfielders in the game: Chicago Cubs star Pete Crow-Armstrong and Arizona Diamondbacks slugger Corbin Carroll.
The commitments, which were announced Thursday night during the MLB Awards Show, add staggering speed, elite defense, and 30-homer power to a roster that is already being called a “Redeem Team.” Team USA, managed once again by Mark DeRosa, is looking to reclaim the gold medal after finishing second to Japan in 2023.
Crow-Armstrong and Carroll, both 2025 All-Stars, represent a youth movement of superstars joining the team’s veteran core.
Here is a look at the “electric” duo joining the squad:
Pete Crow-Armstrong (Chicago Cubs)
- 2025 Season: 31 HR, 35 SB, 6.0 WAR
- Accolades: Gold Glove, All-Star, All-MLB Second Team
At just 23, Crow-Armstrong is coming off a massive breakout season that saw him become the first Cubs player to join the 30-30 club since Sammy Sosa. Widely regarded as the best defensive center fielder in baseball, PCA gives Team USA a game-changing, “no-fly zone” presence in the outfield. He is also a four-time alum of the USA Baseball youth national teams.
Corbin Carroll (Arizona Diamondbacks)
- 2025 Season: 31 HR, .343 OBP, 5.8 WAR
- Accolades: All-Star
Carroll, 25, adds another elite, all-around talent. He matches Crow-Armstrong’s power (both hit 31 homers in 2025) and brings his own top-tier speed and on-base skills. Carroll’s versatility allows him to lock down a corner outfield spot, creating what could be the fastest and most powerful outfield in the entire tournament.
A “Stacked” Roster Gets Stronger
The addition of these two young stars makes an already “loaded” roster look almost unbeatable. The six players now officially committed to Team USA include a “who’s who” of MLB’s elite:
- Aaron Judge (OF, Yankees): Team Captain and reigning 2025 AL MVP.
- Paul Skenes (SP, Pirates): Reigning 2025 NL Cy Young Award winner.
- Cal Raleigh (C, Mariners): 2025 AL MVP runner-up and 60-home-run slugger.
- Bobby Witt Jr. (SS, Royals): One of the top all-around shortstops in the game.
- Pete Crow-Armstrong (OF, Cubs)
- Corbin Carroll (OF, Diamondbacks)
With a core that now includes the reigning NL Cy Young, the AL MVP, the AL MVP runner-up, and two 30-30 outfielders, Team USA is sending a clear message: they are building a “juggernaut” to bring the WBC title back home.
