Dallas Cowboys’ latest injury shake-up makes one free agent signing feel inevitable as Week 11 looms.QQ

The Dallas Cowboys need depth at safety following the latest Juanyeh Thomas news.

The Dallas Cowboys got some positive injury news on Tuesday when they activated LB DeMarvion Overshown and CB Shavon Revel Jr. from the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) and NFI (Non-Football Injury) Reserves respectively.
Unfortunately, the corresponding move to open a roster spot was safety Juanyeh Thomas being added to Reserve/NFI himself. The move means Thomas will be forced to miss a minimum four games starting in Week 11 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Cowboys player returning is crucial for the defense…
Thomas missed back-to-back games with migraines before returning to the field in Week 9. After one game of action, Thomas is dealing with migraines still. According to multiple reports, the migraines were affecting his vision. He battled them in training camp, too.
Thomas’ injury update should make Cowboys pursue Quandre Diggs
Losing Thomas is a big blow to the Cowboys defense as he’s been considered a starter since Malik Hooker’s injury earlier in the year. Though the latter could return soon, Thomas was important depth at the position. Losing him should motivate the Cowboys to look for outside help and fortunately for them, there’s a clear free agent target for them to pursue.
Last week, the Tennessee Titans waived veteran safety Quandre Diggs. He has since cleared waivers and is available to sign with any NFL team he wishes to. And though being let go by the Titans may cause doubts in fans, context is important. Tennessee is playing promising young players expected to impact the team in the long run, including third-round rookie Kevin Winston Jr.
Excluding Hooker—who remains on Injured Reserve as of today—the Cowboys are down to Donovan Wilson (who missed last game), Markquese Bell, and undrafted rookie Alijah Clark at safety. Any help would be welcome and in Diggs, Dallas would get a starting-caliber starter for a low price. It’s a no-brainer even with slim playoff hopes.
